Christian Distinctiveness

Life in all its fullness – John 10:10

Educating children to access and navigate life in all its fullness, right now and in the future, by equipping them with core Christian values and a set of learning skills that will enable them to achieve academic excellence and flourish.

As a Christian school we believe that we offer much more than an academic education; we seek to develop the whole person, offering spiritual, moral, social and cultural development as well as the development of character and identity, allowing our children to become the best versions of themselves, with Christ at the centre of all we do. This vision is realised in visual form - our school trinity.

The Langar curriculum is built on a core set of Christian values that provide a moral compass and a common language of behaviour for the school family and wider community. The values equip our children with social and relationship skills, intelligences and attitudes to succeed at school and throughout their lives.  Each house champions one of the values and houses are named after people who have changed the world by living out these values. House captains are values spotters and celebrate children who display the values as virtues.

Love – St Theresa of Calcutta -  Corinthians 13:2 – 8 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Take care – Catherine Booth – Genesis 2:15 – Treat the earth as if your life depends on it

Thoughtfulness – William Wilberforce – Galatians 5:22 – 23 The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Gratitude – Doctor Barnardo – Psalm 95:2 – Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise.

Fairness – George Cadbury -  Ephesians 4:32 – Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other as God forgave you

Respect - Corrie Ten Boom – Colossians 3:20 - Honour one another above yourselves
