Swimming
During their time with us, all children have the opportunity to take part in an extensive programme of swimming lessons to enable them to meet the end of KS2 National Curriculum requirements. At present we offer swimming lessons to all of our Year 5 and 6 pupils. This is a block of nine, 45 minute lessons at Bingham Leisure Centre, taught be qualified and experienced swimming teachers.
By the end of KS2 children should be able to:
Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
Use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
