On Friday we enjoyed a visit from author, Troy Jenkinson. As an ex primary headteacher, Troy delivered an engaging and entertaining assembly exploring his book The Best Mummy Snails in the Whole Wide World. A real life Giant African Land Snail called Thunder accompanied Troy and some children got to hold him!
Some of Troy’s books have been written in collaboration with children and all explore the theme of equality and diversity. Class 3 benefitted from a writing workshop with thin after the assembly.
Troy gave wonderful feedback about our school and the welcome he received.
Troy’s visit launched World Book Day which is on Thursday this week. Remember, children are invited to bring a book in that inspires them and to dress as the person who inspires them from this book.
