Langar Church of England Primary School

Childcare Access

We are fortunate to be able to provide before and after school childcare as well as a nursery on our premises through the Early Years Learning Alliance. Provision is excellent, with a purpose built room at the end of our building.

Over the years, with the tightening of safeguarding procedures, the design and whereabouts of the childcare room as proved less than ideal, with access being across the playground for nursery parents and carers. It can be very concerning for school staff to see unknown adults in the grounds, especially during playtimes or outdoor We have trialled and tried many ways to ensure access to childcare is welcoming whilst having the tightest safety possible for our children in school.

With the national guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education and our Child Protection policy having been updated we have been prompted to review these access procedures.

Out of School Club will have their own doorbell in the lobby and will bring your children to you to exit the building.

At times children are taken outside to play, especially if you arrive before 4.30; a sign will be put on the bell if this is the case and you will be directed to collect from the main school gate.

Please note; the car park is for staff and deliveries only, and parents are not permitted to use it for drop off and collection of children.

As always, these changes are made in the very best interests of your children.
