It has been wonderful to see children and adults coming in with bags of donations for Ukrainian refugees. I heard on the news this morning that more than 1,000,000 have left their homes to try to move to places of safety.
Sophie Crowder has been in contact with the co-ordinator of the effort being organised by QMC. They have stressed that they are very grateful for all the donations of items for the effort. They are limited for space in the transport they are organising and have to abide by strict border controls. Therefore they can only take limited resources such as -
Sleeping bags
Powerful torches
Bandages
Soap
Plasters
Antiseptic cream
Shampoo
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Toilet rolls
Nappies
Bags of Rice and Pasta
Any items donated that they are unable to take, we will give to Dove Cottage.
I would encourage you to buy cakes this afternoon and generously donate funds to The Red Cross who can then get aid to these people in a bigger capacity than QMC can.
Please bring the amount of money you wish to donate, as Sophie will have limited change.
