Starting Lent
We have had a very special start to Lent here at school, with pancake celebrations yesterday and an Ash Wednesday service this morning.
Mrs Turner led a collective worship yesterday reflecting on the origins of Shrove Tuesday and linking the ingredients needed for the perfect pancake to the ingredients needed for a perfect life. In the afternoon classes 1 and 4 continued their celebrations tying out different toppings for pancakes and enjoying the treats they had created.
This morning Mrs Brown led worship accompanied by Rev. Rachel who came in to ash us. The children reflected on the creation of God's wonderful world and about the sin of human-beings who are causing pollution and destruction. They have been set 24 small challenges to complete during Lent to make a positive contribution to the world. We do hope you will support them in this mission.
