NASA’s Perseverance rover has successfully landed on Mars! It is ready to explore and learn all about its new environment. Perseverance was given its name by NASA competition winner, 13-year-old Alexander Mather from the USA. The rover will spend two years studying Mars, searching for signs of past life and collecting samples from the surface.

Ahead of your return to your usual class routine, we’d like to imagine that you are an astronaut returning to earth from space exploration! Just like how your life and routines may have been different over the past few months, we’d like you to reflect on that time and complete the astronaut below to take back to school. Consider… • What have you missed about school? • One thing you did or learned that you’d like to tell others. • Using colours and drawings to colour the astronaut!

A therapeutic story to support primary-age children in exploring strong emotions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.
