  • Governor Link visit; Collective Worship

    Thu 01 Feb 2024

On January 31, 2024, I had the privilege of participating in a Governor link visit at Langar School. In line with my role as the 'curriculum Governor,' the purpose of this visit was to assess the impact of Langar's implementation and integration of the Zones of Regulation. Drawing on my 20-years of experience in education and personal observations of how children engage with the Zones of Regulation, I am confidently impressed by the school's strategies in supporting it’s pupils to understand and manage their emotions.

The results of this approach extend beyond individual emotional well-being. The positive reflections of pupils, both on an individual level and collectively, as well as their embodiment of the school values, were truly magical. The collective worship session was a testament to the dedication of the staff, showcasing a consistent effort to enhance communication among our children. This positive impact has not only been seen in measurable data but is also evident in the enthusiastic words spoken by the children.

While the journey of improvement in education is always on-going, it was reassuring to witness the practical implementation of the Zones of Regulation by pupils, demonstrating a commitment beyond displays on the walls. A huge well done to the entire school community for their hard work in firmly embedding these valuable practices.
