  • Nottinghamshire SEND Local Area Partnership Survey

    Thu 21 Mar 2024

The Nottinghamshire SEND Local Area Partnership would welcome the views of all parents and carers who access Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services for their children and young people aged 0 to 25.

The views collected from this survey will be shared with the Nottinghamshire SEND Partnership Assurance and Improvement Group (PAIG) and will be used to shape future services and provision in the areas of education, health, and care. The PAIG leads on the co-ordination of services for children and young people with SEND in Nottinghamshire and includes representatives of parents and carers, as well as education settings, health providers and commissioners and local authority services.

I would appreciate your support in sharing the link for the survey with all relevant parents and carers: https://consult.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/children-and-families-services/sendparentcarersurvey.

The closing date for the survey is Monday 8 April 2024.

  • School Grounds

    Mon 11 Mar 2024

I am appealing to you to be vigilant, please!

Mrs Farmer has noticed that someone has been in the school carpark over the weekend on the past few Mondays. Entry to the school site, other than the field, is not permitted and the gates are locked. If you do see someone in the car park, can you please let us know.

The field is open for public access at the weekend and outside of school hours. When we converted to being in a Multi-Academy Trust this was something that the governors and I fought hard to keep. However, the right to use is comes with clear rules which are displayed at the entrance. One of the rules is that dogs are not permitted.

There was a large amount of dog mess on the running track this morning. This is used by your children everyday and cost £10,000 to install.

If you see dogs on the field, please ask the owner to take them off and let us know so that we can ensure your children do not play in areas where there is dog mess.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

What a fabulous day! Having not dressed up to celebrate World Book Day for about five years, it was such fun to see children dressed as characters, authors and people who inspire them. They have enjoyed making comics, sharing books with other year groups and a quiz. Class 2 even enjoyed listening to My Naught Little Sister read by Mrs Brown's mom!

  • Summer Fair - Save the Date

    Tue 05 Mar 2024
  • Author Visit

    Mon 04 Mar 2024

On Friday we enjoyed a visit from author, Troy Jenkinson. As an ex primary headteacher, Troy delivered an engaging and entertaining assembly exploring his book The Best Mummy Snails in the Whole Wide World. A real life Giant African Land Snail called Thunder accompanied Troy and some children got to hold him!

Some of Troy’s books have been written in collaboration with children and all explore the theme of equality and diversity. Class 3 benefitted from a writing workshop with thin after the assembly.

Troy gave wonderful feedback about our school and the welcome he received.

Troy’s visit launched World Book Day which is on Thursday this week. Remember, children are invited to bring a book in that inspires them and to dress as the person who inspires them from this book.

  • Spot on Cooking, Crafts and Sports Day

  • Aspire Worship Leaders Retreat

    Fri 01 Mar 2024

On Thursday afternoon the Worship Leaders were taken to church for retreat afternoon which led by Mrs Brown for the church schools in Aspire Multi-Academy Trust. The retreat provided an opportunity for the children to engage in scripture, activity, song and prayer. The things they took part in also provided them with ideas that they can use when they lead collective worship in their schools.

We had a great time and all the schools gave really positive feedback.

  • Class 3 Sharing Assembly

    Fri 01 Mar 2024

Wow! The children in Class 3 seem to have matured five years in the last term! They presented the work they have done confidently and clearly which was enjoyed by staff, children and , hopefully, parents this afternoon.

They are testament to the teaching, care, guidance and support they have had. Well done Mr Patchett, Mrs Nicholson,  Mr Hall and Mrs Lark.

  • Class 3 Cake Sale

    Tue 27 Feb 2024

Class 3 have been planning a gardening project this half term and clearing the area outside their classroom in preparation for this. They have worked really hard and are very enthusiastic.

The children suggested a cake sale to raise money for plants and equipment needed. Therefore, we would be very grateful of donations of cakes or biscuits from class 3 parents, that they can sell on the playground after school on Friday. These do not have to be homemade as we know how busy life is!

Cakes and biscuits will be sold for a suggested donation of 50p each with any greater donation gratefully received.

  • Let's Celebrate

    Tue 27 Feb 2024

We know that this is a good school. We know that children here are nurtured and cared for and receive a well rounded education. We know children here behave well because of our values based system. We know your children are being educated by a team of excellent educators. We know we have an outstanding package for the personal development and the wellbeing of children. We know the list of what we do well is too extensive to write here!

We know you value the work we do here. However, it is always pleasing when outside recognition is given for the work we do!

We have received a letter from parliament today, congratulating us for the exceptionally high outcomes for Key Stage 2 pupils last year. With 92% of pupils achieving the expected standard or higher in maths, reading and writing we are in the top 1% of primary schools in the country. Our pupils made outstanding progress across their primary journey with progress scores of 4.7 in reading, 6.2 in writing and 5.3 in maths placing our outcomes in the top 5% of primary schools in the country.

We are always keen to point out that these outcomes are even more exceptional as they are down to excellent teaching - not hot housing, not boosting, not cramming and not narrowing the curriculum. Of this, we are really proud.
