  • Clubs

    We welcomed Professor Poopenshtinken from Magical Maths and Ash from Forest Bugs into assembly on Monday. New clubs are going to start after half term:

     

    Amazing news! 

     

    Magical Maths is returning to Langar Primary School with a brand new, super fun, after school maths club and we would like to invite your child/children to come along and join us for some fantastic mathemagical fun!

     

     

    We'll be starting the club on Friday 7th June straight after school and running on the following dates at the same time for an hour each week:

     

    Friday 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th June & 5th July

     

    Magical Maths Club is packed full of exciting games and activities that are super fun and highly educational (but don't tell the children!).

     

    Please be aware though, that we do have limited availability and places are already filling up fast. The places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so be sure to sign up quickly to secure your spot!

    Forest Bugs will run for a six week course starting on Thursday 13th June following a free  taster session on Thursday 6th June. Please refer to leaflet for more details.

     

  • Sports Day Forecast

    Good morning! The weather is not as expected today, the forecast is for rain until 10.00 and cloudy thereafter. At this stage, we are still planning to go ahead with Sports Day this afternoon. However, if the rain continues past 11.00 we will postpone and publish a new date. Watch this space!
  • Sports Day

    Just a reminder that it is Sports Day on Friday 17th May.

     

    This begins at 2.00 and will end at approximately 3.15. Children should be provided with sun protection, hat and water bottle and are invited to bring a t-shirt in their house colour.

     

    Family and friends are most welcome to come and support this annual event and will have seating provided along the side of the running track.

  • Junior School Art and Photographic competition - 2019

    Mon 13 May 2019

    The theme this year was Our Countryside with prizes being awarded to the winners in each of two categories ie Key stage years 3 / 4 and years 5 / 6, as well as the winning school receiving a donation to their Art department. Additionaly a Best in Class in each of the categories was chosen from the entries submitted by each of the participating schools and from which the winning entries were chosen. Eight schools took part with 158 entries and again standards were high.

     

    Our thanks to Long Acre Studios in Bingham and the Arts Society Trent Valley for their support.

     

    The winners are: 

    Art - Leila Rose Johnson (Archbishop Cranmer), Missy Lewis (St Peters C of E East Bridgford)

    Photography – Lucy Whiteman (Radcliffe Junior), Thomas Jenkins (Carnarvon Junior)

     

    The winning and Best in Class Artwork is being exhibited at the Bingham Library from 1st to 31st May.

     

    The Mayor of Bingham formally opened the Exhibition and together with the President of the Vale of Belvoir Rotary club presented the framed winning entries to the two winners of the Photographic competition.

     

    We shall be running another Art/Photographic competition in 2019/2020.

    Full details of the competition will be sent out in September.

    We are really excited about the Wilberforce House Ultimate Dodgeball for the British Heart Foundation on Friday.

     

    Just to note - this is an in-school event as we would be unable to accommodate parents in the hall (without risk of injury!!)

  • Enrichment Afternoon

    Just a quick reminder of the activities your children are taking part in this half term. These remain the same until May half term.

     

    Reception - French

    Year 1 - French

    Year 2 - Dance and Music

    Year 3 - Outdoor Learning

    Year 4 - Cooking

    Year 5 - Outdoor Learning

    Year 6 -  Music and Dance

     

    These sessions are slightly shorter in length this half term as we are lucky enough to be receiving singing workshops from The Southwell Minster Chorister Outreach Team for the final hour of the day.

     

    Children doing outdoor learning will need wellies, and preferably a change of clothes for every session. The sessions go ahead whatever the weather so please ensure they are suitably equipped.
