Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We have had the most wonderful end to the term. The day started with our amazing musicians performing to you, our families and has ended with parties and treats.
We thank you all for your support this term and look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 4th January.
I remain ever hopeful that we will return to school with the arrangements that are currently in place, but should there be any changes announced by the government, I will communicate via the website and the school app.
Happy Christmas
We are thrilled that so many children want to perform in groups or as soloists this year! We are going to set this up under the pre-school canopy to ensure you have a good view of them.
Send your children into school as normal at 8.40am, and then remain on the playground if you are staying for the performance. I will lock the gates to make sure the site is secure, at the usual time of 8.50am. Anyone arriving after this time will need to sign their children in via the office as is the normal routine. We will bring the first group outside to perform as soon as we have gathered them together.
Wrap up warm and feel free to bring a thermos/ lidded cup of coffee or tea as we will not be serving refreshments.

These photos were not shared following our Awards and Achievements Assembly. We really enjoyed hearing about the range of hobbies and activities the children do outside of school and the achievements they have had in these areas.
Mrs Shelby and Mrs Daws cooked us a wonderful Christmas dinner today which was enjoyed by staff and children alike. The atmosphere in the hall was suitably seasonal with the children wearing Christmas accessories and festive songs playing.
The nativity performance was a great success, and you can enjoy it over and over again now, on our video sharing area of the website!

From today - Tuesday 14 December, a new national approach to daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 is being introduced (including until the end of this term). All adults who are fully vaccinated and children aged 5 to 18 years and 6 months, identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 – whether Omicron or not – should take a lateral flow device (LFD) test every day for 7 days instead of self-isolating. Daily testing by close contacts will help to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 will help protect education settings by reducing transmission and will also help keep pupils in face-to-face education.
Once notified by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact, all eligible staff, pupils and students should take an LFD each day for 7 days and report the results through the Online Reporting System and to their setting. If they test negative, they can continue to attend their education setting. Outside of the education setting, they should continue to follow the advice set out in the Sunday 12 December press release. This approach should also be adopted over the winter break and on return in January.
If they test positive, they should self-isolate and order a PCR test to confirm the result. If the PCR is positive, they must self-isolate for 10 days. If the PCR test is negative, they no longer need to self-isolate but should continue to carry out the remainder of the daily tests, and only need to isolate if it is positive.
For primary aged children LFD test kits are available through the usual routes (community test sites, local pharmacies or online).
Children under five years old do not need to take part in daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 and do not need to isolate.
Anyone over the age of 18 years and 6 months who is not vaccinated, must isolate in line with government guidelines if they are a close contact of a positive case.

As I huddle in my coat and warm layers against the winter wind, it always makes me thing how horrific it must be to be homeless in these conditions. The Friary are running several appeals this winter. Please take a look and see if you can support this worthy cause.
