  • Statutory Assessments

Mon 16 Jul 2018 Emily Brown

‘Educating for life in all its fullness’ – John 10:10

Today we are sharing the outcomes of statutory assessments with the parents of children who have taken them – Early Learning Goals, phonics, KS1 teacher assessment or KS2 SATS results. We wish to share the overview with you too as we are delighted by the results and have a lots to celebrate!

But not every skill we teach and nurture in school is tested and they cannot all be measured: Your child’s generosity, their team spirit or their willingness to take on new challenges. The tests didn’t assess their kindness towards others and they didn’t test how good a swimmer they are or what incredible knowledge they have about history and geography. They didn’t listen to them perform in a concert or watch them try a new sport at a Rushcliffe Festival, and they didn’t acknowledge the contribution your children make to the daily running of the school through their jobs and roles they take on.

Every child and member of staff in school have contributed to these outcomes. Some of your children will not have reached the expected standard in a particular area, but we are immensely proud of the personal journey that they have taken in order to secure the progress they have made from their starting points. We have our own standards and they involve how we conduct ourselves in this world and how we have the skills and mind-set to work hard for what we want. Every one of your children has their own particular set of strengths and we want them to know that they can achieve anything they believe they can. The sky is the limit!
