  • Rain!

    Thu 11 May 2023

Well - the rain is good for some! Look at the fun class 1 had this afternoon.

  • Children Leading Worship Conference

    Fri 05 May 2023

I had the pleasure of taking the Faith and Values Leaders to the conference held at The Minster yesterday. It was a wonderful day to inspire schools with ideas of how to get children leading worship.

Our children were very proud to realise they do most of the suggestions already! They are planning on including more drama into the telling of Bible stories though and want to buy more items for the worship table.

  • Sports Afternoon

    Fri 05 May 2023

Although the weather is beautiful today, the forecast for next week is very wet!

We are going to wait until Tuesday to decide if sports afternoon will go ahead. This will depend on the forecast for Friday and the days leading up to it as our field gets very water logged making it unsafe for the planned events.

Thank you for your understanding. We will communicate the decision as soon as we can.

  • New Office Arrangements

    Wed 03 May 2023

It was the end of an era, last week, when we said goodbye to Mrs Whelan as office manager.  Change brings opportunity and we have taken the chance to review the way our office is managed.

We would like to welcome Mr Bell to our staff team. Mr Bell has worked with the school for many years as our independent finance officer. He is now taking on the role of Finance Manager in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. In this role, he will undertake all of the financial management, health and safety, purchasing and orders, staffing and data inputting.

The other parts of the role of Office Manager will be undertaken by Mrs George in her role as Pastoral Lead. She will meet with parents and children for pastoral support, maintain registers and follow up absences, support transition of pupils between schools, co-ordinate extra-curricular activities and communicate these with parents,  support with the arrangement of trips and offers on SQuid.

Mr Bell and Mrs George will both be contactable through the office@langar.notts.sch.uk email address, but if you wish to speak about absences, pastoral needs or anything at a 'child level', you can use ageorge@langar.notts.sch.uk, to ensure it is seen by the correct person.

The office spaces have been reconfigured to enable us all to do our jobs well and maintain the confidentiality that is needed.  I have moved out of the front office, which is now the Pastoral/ELSA room, and the head teachers' office is now in the Langar Room (which in the near future will be partitioned into two spaces).

This new way of working may take some getting used to, but as always, we embrace the change!
