It was fantastic to see the school bustling with parents and to see the pride on faces as children shared work with you. 53 children had parents and grandparents come in and take part.
We do hope you found it a useful way to illustrate the points made by teachers in parent/ teacher meetings.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the governors, to confirm the appointment of Mr Jamie Walker-Jones as the new Head Teacher at Langar C of E Primary School.
Since October, with the support of the team at Aspire, we have been carrying out a recruitment process to find the right person to take over from Mrs Brown as Head Teacher in April. This attracted 5 applicants, 3 of which we invited to a rigorous assessment day on the 19th December.
Along with the governors and the team at Aspire, the staff and your children played an important role in ensuring the best candidate for Langar was selected. Mr Walker-Jones, who is currently Deputy Head at Willow Brook Primary school in Keyworth, will take up the role on the 15th April.
I would also like to take this opportunity to again thank Emily both personally and on behalf of governors past and current, for all she has done for the school over the past 8 years.

Monday 15th January is our Connect and Reflect Afternoon. This provides and opportunity for you to come into school and to talk with your child about the learning they have been doing whilst looking at their work. We always find this gives a good illustration to the snapshot report and parent/ teacher meetings.
You are invited to come along from 2.00pm on Monday for this. Children will be collected from the classroom by staff on your arrival and you will be able to spend time with them, in the hall, library or corridor. It will be busy, but enjoyable! We understand if you do not wish to go home again before the 3.20 home time. Therefore, after 2.30pm you can take your child home if you wish. I hope this enables you to have a little more flexibility and a little less rushing around. It will be a bit of a disrupted afternoon for children anyway and so leaving a little before the end of the day will not be detrimental.
The hall will need to be cleared at 3.00 so that Steph can set up tennis club.
